About the Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance

The Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance is a national coalition of more than 120 organizations representing growers of fruits, vegetables, dried fruit, tree nuts, nursery plants and other products. The alliance was established to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crop agriculture and improve the health of Americans by broadening the scope of U.S. agricultural public policy.

Specialty Crop
Block Grants

This multistate program is a much-needed effort focusing on food safety, plant pests and diseases, research and crop-specific projects to benefit specialty crop agriculture. It has had significant positive impacts for the industry.


Specialty Crop Research Initiative

Addressing the critical needs of the specialty crop industry, this program awards competitive grants to support research and extension to help solve challenges of national, regional, and multistate importance.



The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Snack Program will reach more than 4 million low-income elementary schoolchildren nationwide this year. This highly effective program provides young students with a fresh fruit or vegetable snack every day at school and should be continued.
